If you remember train tickets from before Myki, before metcard even - then you might recognise this. It's the tiling at the new Hoppers Crossing station. And it's based on the train tickets used at the station, and across Melbourne, up until the 80s.
Around 11,000 tiles have been used by artist Peter Atkins to turn the new overpass into a work of art. It's all part of work to consign 85 level crossings to history. But I reckon this is one thing from the past that's worth keeping.
