Sarah Hibbs is an independent curator and creative consultant living with over a decade of experience across the private, independent, and not-for-profit art sectors, she has an in-depth knowledge of Australian and international contemporary art. Prior to joining T Projects, Sarah has held positions as Director, Yavuz Gallery, Sydney / Singapore, and Chief of Operations at LoveArt Art Advisory, Sydney / New York. In these capacities, she has delivered over 20 site-specific installations and commissions, helped build the collections of private, corporate and public-sector clients, and co-curated several commercial shows for globally recognised artists. She has worked with major Australian and international artists including Tracey Emin, Isabel and Alfredo Aquilizan, Danie Mellor, Christian Thompson, Nona Garcia, Izabela Pluta, Mel O’Callaghan, and Reko Rennie.
Sarah currently sits on the board of Runway Journal as Treasurer and Development & Engagement Manager. Runway Journal is a digital publication that has been commissioning experimental works by emerging artists for almost two decades. 2022 marks the publication’s 20th anniversary.
She has also previously worked as a Project Manager at Contemporary Arts Organisations Australia (CAOA) where she managed and oversaw their re-branding and associated front-end website rebuild, database creation and migration of data from the organisation’s 20 year history.
Her other positions include roles at Artspace, Sydney; Swiss Institute, New York; and Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne. She holds a Master of Art Curatorship from the University of Melbourne.
